Karen Pickering SWIM Foundation Bursary Criteria for Eligibility

  • The applicant has a sibling, child or parent already having lessons with KP SWIM.
  • The applicant has a low annual household income.
  • The applicant has a disability or special needs.
  • The applicant has a weight problem or other health issue that may be helped by swimming.
  • The applicant has been referred by a doctor or physiotherapist.

Please Note:

  • There is no age limit to apply for a KPSF Bursary.
  •  Not all eligible applicants will receive a bursary.

Terms & Conditions

  • Bursaries of up to 100% of the cost of a swimming course (1 term of lessons) may be awarded.
  • All bursaries will be awarded at the discretion of the KPSF Board.
  • Bursaries awarded will be subject to availability of places at the relevant KP SWIM venue.
  • Bursaries awarded to those with health issues, disabilities or special needs will depend upon the facilities at the relevant venue being suitable & the swim teacher having the necessary experience.
  • The level of each bursary is solely at the discretion of the KPSF Board.
  • The applicant’s circumstances will be taken into account when awarding a bursary.
  • KPSF may contact the person who is named to provide a reference to confirm information given is correct.
  • Any false or misleading statements made during the application process may render the application invalid.
  • In the event of an application becoming invalid the bursary awarded will be returned to Karen Pickering SWIM Foundation.
  • Any additional lesson fees paid by the applicant will be non-refundable but may be put towards the full cost of a term of lessons to be paid by the applicant.
  • By completing & submitting the Bursary Application Form the applicant agrees to the Terms & Conditions.
