HOW MANY SWIM SESSIONS WILL I GET?
You will receive a handbook via email that includes 12 Warm Ups, Main Sets, Sub Sets & Warm Downs which can be mixed & matched to create 100s of possible swim sessions to keep you challenged. There will be 12 pre-planned sessions to get you started.

WHAT OTHER INFORMATION IS INCLUDED?
There will be advice (geared to your swimming experience) on how to make the most of your time in the pool, stroke tips to help you improve your technique, guidance on what swim equipment you should use, details on what drills will be best for you to do/how to do them plus tips to help you reach your personal goals.

DO I NEED TO BE A GOOD SWIMMER TO SIGN UP?
No, Karen can tailor the swim sessions to suit any level from a ‘head-up’ breaststroker to a strong swimmer.

I DON'T HAVE MUCH SWIMMING EXPERIENCE, WILL I UNDERSTAND THE SESSIONS?
Yes, there will be plenty of advice & tips based on your swimming experience included in your package & if you need any additional guidance just email one2one@karenpickering.co.uk.

I HAVE NEVER USED ANY FLOATS/EQUIPMENT BEFORE, HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT TO DO?
You will receive details on the pieces of swim equipment (floats, paddles, etc) that will be best for you to use to compliment your sessions & advice on how to use them. If you need any additional help please email one2one@karenpickering.co.uk.

I HAVEN'T DONE ANY EXERCISE FOR A WHILE, IS IT SAFE FOR ME TO SWIM?
Yes, your programme will include information on how to start gently & increase as you get fitter. NB: It is always advisable to check with your GP when starting a new exercise regime.

HOW LONG WILL EACH SWIM SESSION BE?
That is up to you. You decide how long you would like each session to be and how many times a week you want to swim.

WHAT SIZE POOL WILL THE SESSIONS BE FOR?
Your swim sessions will be tailored to the pool you want to swim in. Karen recommends the pool you use is at least 18m long but sessions can be prepared for any length.

I AM RECOVERING FROM AN INJURY/ILLNESS, CAN I STILL SIGN UP?
Yes but please make sure you include any injury/illness information on the Personal Details Form.

I HAVE A DISABILITY/IMPAIRMENT, WILL I BE ABLE TO DO THE SESSIONS?
Yes but please make sure you give as much information about your disability/impairment when you fill in the Personal Details Form.

I AM OVERWEIGHT, WILL SWIMMING HELP?
Swimming is one of the best exercises to do if you are overweight since it is non-weight bearing & therefore there is little chance of injury plus it is one of the best activities for burning calories. NB: It is advisable to check with your Dr first before starting any new exercise regime.

I DON'T LIKE PUTTING MY FACE IN THE WATER WHEN I SWIM, IS IT STILL WORTHWHILE ME SIGNING UP?
Yes, there are plenty of skills & drills you can do in the pool without getting your face or hair wet so Karen can put a full programme together for you.

WILL THE SWIM SESSIONS MEET MY PERSONAL GOALS?
The Personal Details Form includes a section on your goals so please give as much information as possible about what you would like to achieve (anything from getting rid of ‘bingo wings’ to training for a triathlon) and Karen will tailor your swim sessions to suit.

HOW WILL I RECEIVE THE KPS ONE2ONE PROGRAMME?
Your programme will be a handbook that will come in the form of a pdf documant via email. If you would like it in any other format please email one2one@karenpickering.co.uk but please note this may incur a small additional cost
